Job Description

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Marketing Director to lead our team in bringing the Theisen’s brand to life across all customer touchpoints. This role is integral to shaping and implementing marketing and ecommerce strategies that align with our business goals and resonate with our customers. Rooted in consumer insights and data, the Marketing Director will oversee category and brand marketing, ecommerce, digital and traditional paid media, content development, creative strategy, relationship marketing, consumer research, and agency partnerships. A close collaboration with the Digital team will be essential to creating a best-in-class online experience that complements our in-store presence. This leader will guide their team’s priorities, foster professional development, and drive impactful advertising and campaigns to position Theisen’s as the destination for home, farm, and auto needs. Qualifications

  • Education: 10+ years in marketing strategy, brand management or planning, with a focus on retail and eCommerce; 5+ years in marketing leadership position
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and growing a brand, creating successful marketing campaigns and ecommerce strategies, and delivering measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and digital marketing channels.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external agencies, including paid media, creative, and marketing partners, to ensure alignment with brand goals and objectives.
  • Hands-on experience with ecommerce and digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and analytics tools to drive customer engagement and growth.
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to identify individual strengths, tailor development plans, and guide team members in their professional growth.
  • Proven ability to motivate and align cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Retail marketing experience, localized marketing expertise, or familiarity with the farm and home industry is preferred.

  

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Lead annual marketing strategy, planning and budget to deliver business objectives.
  • Develop innovative and comprehensive strategies to drive brand love and achieve business objectives through effective plans to reach our target audiences.
  • Ensure optimal allocation of marketing budgets, balancing investment across channels to maximize ROI and support strategic priorities.
  • Oversee the ecommerce team, developing and implementing strategies to drive online growth, enhance user experience, and achieve sales targets, leveraging industry best practices and data-driven insights.
  • Ensure brand messaging is consistent across all touchpoints - paid, earned, owned -to create a cohesive and seamless customer experience.
  • Oversee the creative services team, ensuring delivery of high-quality marketing and advertising materials for campaigns, CRM, in-store point-of-purchase displays, and sales tools.
  • Provide leadership direction for loyalty and retention initiatives, ensuring programs effectively enhance customer engagement, foster brand loyalty, and increase customer lifetime value.
  • Oversee the development and execution of digital marketing strategies by internal teams and agency partners, driving qualified traffic and leveraging insights to optimize results.
  • Shape strategic communications to highlight Theisen’s commitment to community involvement and giving back, reinforcing the company’s brand pillars and strengthening its reputation.
  • Develop innovative Marketing Funds & Co-Op programs designed to achieve shared goals and drive impactful results for all partners involved. 

Marketing Campaigns & Brand Strategy

  • Provide strategic leadership for the creation and execution of integrated, full-funnel marketing campaigns that build brand awareness, drive customer loyalty, and foster engagement across digital, social, and traditional platforms, including print, radio, OOH/billboards, and TV.
  • Monitor and manage Theisen’s brand health metrics, including awareness, perception, and loyalty, to guide ongoing strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling content strategies and ideas that deepen consumer connections with Theisen’s and enhance brand storytelling.
  • Provide strategic oversight for loyalty-focused retention campaigns, ensuring the effective use of email, SMS, and loyalty channels to drive customer retention, enhance engagement, and achieve measurable results aligned with brand objectives.
  • Lead the development of an annual promotional and editorial calendar, creating a cohesive narrative that aligns with Theisen’s brand vision and drives engagement across all touchpoints.
  • Strategically guide the implementation of localized market strategies, ensuring campaigns resonate with specific consumer needs and preferences to effectively connect with diverse audiences.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with cross-functional team members, Purchasing, Retail Operations, Ecommerce, Finance to develop marketing campaigns to achieve company objectives and sales goals.
  • Develop processes as needed to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of campaigns, to achieve objectives. 
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and partners to ensure high-quality execution of campaigns and ensure needed resources are placed where needed to support the strategy.
  • Collaborate with Digital and IT partners to leverage marketing technology, including CRM platforms, analytics tools, and marketing automation systems, ensuring efficient campaign execution and accurate performance measurement while integrating innovative solutions.

Market Analysis, Data & Insights:

  • Foster a team culture that encourages and empowers teams to test, measure and optimize campaign effectiveness, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our marketing efforts.
  • Lead development and execution of annual learning plan to prioritize consumer research and reporting needs to make data-driven decisions for the business. 
  • Leverage data and customer insights to shape strategies, analyze campaigns and optimize marketing efforts, ensuring continuous growth and improvement.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Inspire, coach, and mentor the marketing team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Set clear expectations and priorities while promoting a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Retain top talent by fostering growth, engagement, and empowerment to ensure a high-performing marketing team.
