Position Summary:
The Director of Website Initiatives is responsible for maintaining the functionality, content, and design of the university's website to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment in support of the University's Mission. This role collaborates with university administrative and departmental offices to keep website content creative, accurate, and current. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the user experience through the creation and proper management of website content with strategic communication and marketing initiatives in support of enrollment management, fundraising, and other key University initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create, review, modify, and publish creative content and web pages within a defined templated and modular CMS. Work with departmental, administrative, and campus constituents to create a cohesive, forward looking online experience
- Collaborate with departmental content creators to help ensure the university's web presence remains modern, accessible, and up to date
- Work in partnership with the Office of University Relations team to maintain UD's online footprint and brand identity standards
- Guide departments in presenting their content through thoughtful design and layout decisions for effective communication goals
- Lead and develop effective approaches through the creative use of video and other graphic communication methods to help tell UD's story through visual means
- Facilitate an annual website audit process and implement best practice procedures to ensure optimal website efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University Mission
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in using a digital engagement and Content Management Systems, especially optimized for higher education, like Terminalfour
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to manage content, images, and enforce web governance rules and workflows
- Experience with Google Analytics and ability to track website and app data, analyze user behavior, and use these insights to improve website and content performance
- Strong grammar, proofreading skills and attention to detail
- Understand, interpret, and integrate brand guidelines within a website platform
- Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple workflow processes
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work in a timely manner
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to remain seated at a workstation for extended periods of time
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred
- Experience with systems optimized for higher education (especially Terminalfour) institutions is preferred
