Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Retail Pharmacist.
As a Retail Pharmacist at MercyOne, you will accept the responsibility and accountability for the accurate control of and appropriate dispensing of all prescription and non-prescription medications. Ensures appropriate counseling of patients regarding their medications.
Schedule:
- Rotating between 7:45am -8:30 pm weekdays, 9-10 hour shifts, rotating weekends 8-5 Sat/Sun or 8:30-12:30 Saturdays.
General Requirements:
- Performs duties with flexibility, adapting to changing schedules and needs of the customers, prioritizing workload accordingly
- Counsels’ patients receiving prescription medications, non-prescription medications, devices and supplies, as appropriate while protecting their health and drug information.
- Provides information to medical staff concerning all aspects of clinical pharmaceutical information pertaining to the patients care and well-being, keeping in mind the confidential nature of such information and communication.
Education:
- Completion of the requirements for a B.S. or PharmD in Pharmacy at an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
- A current State of Iowa Pharmacist license.
- Maintenance of continuing education credits every 2 years as required by the Iowa State Board of Pharmacy.
- Previous practical experience in a retail or ambulatory care pharmacy is preferred.
- Certification in Immunization Administration is preferred.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
