Job Description
The Retail Facility Manager will be responsible for preserving the condition of the infrastructure and ensure facilities, grounds and equipment are safe and well-functioning. This individual will work in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, Regional Managers and Store Managers to identify potential or existing equipment, facility and physical inventory needs. They will also work in conjunction with the Brand Team to plan and execute all new store sets and remodels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum 3 years in retail environment
- Minimum 3 years managerial experience
- Valid driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Some travel with occasional overnight stays
Key Responsibilities
- Meet regularly with President to determine priorities for upcoming projects and discuss progress
- Meet at minimum weekly with the Maintenance Manager to determine projects and priorities for the upcoming week
- Work in FM Dashboard, Wrike and other software for entry of new work orders and follow up on existing, missing or completed work orders
- Collaborate with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement budgets for facilities needs
- Follow up on quotes, schedules and progress of outside contractor projects
- Work with Administrative Assistant to ensure facility needs are properly tracked and followed up by stores and regionals
- Work with Managers to ensure procedural manuals are kept and updated as needed
- Assist Maintenance Manager and others as needed from time to time on projects
- Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Review utilities consumption and research and recommend ways to minimize cost
- Plan and coordinate installations, repairs and annual maintenance and refurbishment of facilities equipment such as HVAC, electric, balers, floor scrubbers, forklifts, security camera’s, shop equipment, shopping carts and corrals, service counters, store vehicles, etc.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently and effectively
- Manage and review service contracts, and maintain financial and non-financial records
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and assist with energy management
- Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
- Monitor all store pest control, lawn mowing, and snow removal quotes and contracts and confirm their effectiveness with store managers
- Identify maintenance needs of all outdoor sales areas, parking lots, sidewalks, exterior lighting, fencing and storage trailers and develop plans with the store manager to ensure needs are met
- Create deadlines and follow up regularly to confirm necessary action has been completed
- Assist stores with maintaining a contractor list for their area
- Conduct and document regular facilities inspections
- Perform analysis and forecasting of upcoming needs
- Assist managers with capital expenditure requests, quotes, and the selection of contractors
- Assist brand team with new store sets, store resets and fixture set ups
- Assist regionals and inventory team with prep and execution of store physical inventories
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
Frequent physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, dexterity, and light grasping. Occasional physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, and firm grasping. The associate is required to accept incoming calls and must be able to hear and speak. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision adequate for performing the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently. The associate must have the manual dexterity to operate and use a computer and other basic office equipment.
Work Environment and Working Conditions
This position is performed inside a climate-controlled office facility. The noise level is low to medium and typical of an office environment. Potential hazards include electrical hazards. Atmospheric conditions are typical of an office environment and may include exposure to odors and dust.
