The House Supervisor is a representative of patient care/ hospital administration on all shifts. The House Supervisor assures the delivery of quality patient care and accomplishment of the goals and objectives of UnityPoint Health - Finley Hospital, on a shift-to-shift basis. The House Supervisor is responsible for the management and coordination of all hospital departments and personnel in the absence of direct line managers. Overall, the House Supervisor serves as an advocate for patient care, staff and the hospital as a whole.

Responsibilities

Supervise nursing and support staff during assigned shifts
-
Serve as the on-site administrator, handling urgent issues and ensuring proper communication across departments

Monitor patient care delivery, safety protocols, and service quality

Coordinate staffing to meet patient care needs

Facilitate admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed
-
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to staff
-
Ensure compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)
Certification/License:
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
- Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within six (6) months from date of hire
- Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or within six (6) months from date of hire
Experience:
- Must have at least two (2) years of professional experience in hospital nursing
