Shop Manager

Job Overview

The Shop Manager at Tucker Freight Lines is responsible for managing daily shop and maintenance operations to ensure company needs are met in a timely and efficient manner by leading and coaching the team of Diesel Technicians.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Scheduling work to be performed and assigning jobs to mechanic in TMT
• Supervising all mechanics and ensuring their performance meets company standards
• Use Google Doc for scheduling seated trucks, unseated truck prep, decommission trucks to prioritize shop workflow with expected completion dates/times.
• Assign technician duties for the day
• Order parts for repairs as necessary and receive in parts TMT
• Check in drivers as they arrive for repairs and get detailed information of issue/needs and communicate clearly with mechanic
• Communicate and coordinate with Operations/Safety personnel as required
• Maintaining a clean, professional and safe work environment
• Review TMT shop repairs daily and change to completed status for processing
• Review daily mechanic timecards in TMT and correct as needed
• Other duties as assigned
